Memulai karir di dunia film pada 1955 lewat film Disimpang Djalan arahan sutradaraThe Teng Gan (TG The). Tahun 1957 ia bertindak sebagai juru kamera di film Turang produksi Rentjong Film Corp, film ini mendapat penghargaan untuk Film, Sutradara, Pemeran Pembantu, dan Tata Artistik pada FFI 1960. Sejak itu karir sebagai juru kamera terus berlanjut.
