Lahir di Jatibarang. Pendidikan : SLA.Suryo aktif di film sejak tahun 1963 pada perusahaan Olympiad Film Studio. Pengalamannya di bidang penggunaan kamera didapat dari Akin, sedang pengalaman editingnya didapat dari Suryadi. Film-film yang pernah dikerjakan antara lain : "Biarkan Musim Berganti" (1971), dimana ia bertindak selaku Editornya.Sedangkan sebagai Juru Kamera ia telahmenangani : "Sayangilah Daku" (1974), "Batas Impian" (1974), "Hippies Lokal" (1976), "Kekasih Binal" (78), "Akibat Bercinta" (79), dll.
